మనం ఏదైనా షూ దుకాణం కి వెళ్ళినప్పుడు అక్కడ మనకి నచ్చిన షూ ఉంటే దానిని ప్యాక్ చేయమని చెబుతాం. ఆ దుకాణదారుడు షూ ని ప్యాక్ చేసే సమయంలో షూ లో లేదా దాని యొక్క బాక్స్ లో తెలుపు రంగులో ఉండేటటువంటి గుండ్రని చిన్న బ్యాగ్ ని కూడా ఉంచుతాడు. ఇంటికి రాగానే బాక్స్ ఓపెన్ చేసి షూ మాత్రమే తీసుకోని అందులో ఉండే తెల్లని బ్యాగ్ వలన మనకు ఎటువంటి ఉపయోగం లేదనుకొని బయట పడేస్తాం. 
అసలు ఆ బ్యాగ్ ఎందుకు ఇస్తారు, మరియు దాని వల్ల కలిగే ఉపయోగాలు తెలిస్తే  ఇంకెప్పుడు ఆ బ్యాగ్ ని బయట పడేయకుండా, దాచుకొని, అవసరమైనప్పుడు  ఉపయోగిస్తారు. ఇక ఆలస్యం చేయకుండా వివరాలలోకి వెళితే .
ఆ తెల్లటి బ్యాగ్ లో ఉండే  చిన్న చిన్న గుండ్రని పూసలను "సిలికా జెల్" అని అంటారు. సాధారణంగా ఈ సిలికా జెల్ అనేది "సిలికాన్ డయాక్సైడ్" తో తయారవుతుంది. ఇది నీలం, తెలుపు, మరియు ఆరెంజ్ రంగులో ఉంటుంది.  ఈ సిలికా జెల్ అనేది ప్రొడక్ట్స్ లను గాలిలో ఉండే తేమ నుండి కాపాడుతుంది. ఇదేవిధంగా కొన్ని రకాల ఫుడ్ ప్రొడక్ట్స్ కంటైనర్ లలో దీనిని ఉంచడం వలన కంటైనర్ లో గల ఫుడ్ "బాక్టీరియా" భారిన పడకుండా ఎక్కువకాలం నిల్వ ఉండేలా చేస్తుంది. అంతేకాకుండా మనం ఉపయోగించే లగేజ్ బ్యాగ్ లలో  ఈ సిలికా జెల్ ని ఉంచినట్లయితే ఆ బ్యాగ్ లో ఉండే  వస్తువులు, మరియు బట్టలు ఫ్రెష్ గా ఉంటాయి. ఒక్కోసారి  మీ జిమ్ బ్యాగ్ లో ఉండే బట్టలు తేమ కారణంగా దుర్వాసన వస్తూ ఉంటాయి. ఒకవేళ మీరు ఐ సిలికా జెల్ ని జిమ్ బ్యాగ్ లో ఉంచినట్లయితే  ఆ తేమ ని గ్రహించి మీ జిమ్ బ్యాగ్ ని ఫ్రెష్ గా ఉంచుతాయి. అలాగే  మెడిసిన్స్ లో, కాస్మోటిక్స్ లో, ఎలెక్ట్రానిక్ వస్తువులలో వీటిని ఉపయోగిస్తూ ఉంటారు.
